Mujahideen History

The Mujahideen started out in 1985 to help the Jihad in the fight against the soviets. In the beginning the Mujahideen were guerrilla forces which helped in the defeat of the USSR, which is the first time in history they have been defeated. Coming together they formed an alliance with Pakistan, now that half the Afghan population has dispersed. To defeat the Soviets America helped by supplying the Mujahideen with stinger missiles, which helped them shoot down soviet helicopters that have been killing people without any resistance. Later the Mujahideen overthrew the leader Najibullah who was the soviet backed president of Afghanistan.

What is the Mujahideen

The Mujahideen, or translated means struggler, which at the root of the word also means holy warrior. Now not just one group, but actually multiple groups in different countries, Iran, Pakistan, and India are different countries that all have different cells that have slightly different names. Mujahadeen-e-Khalq (MEK) is one in Iran and they're a group who opposes the government in Iran. Other known cells are Harkat-ul-Mujahideen (HUM) who resides in Pakistan, Indian Mujahideen (IM) which is considered a front for the Students Islamic Movement of India which the Indian government believes to be a front for al Qaeda providing logistical information, and throwing investigations off the tracks of the IM. The Mujahideen is a large organization made up of multiple cells that run independently of each other making them much more difficult to squelch.

Why the Mujahideen Fights

The Mujahideen fights because the Koran tells them too, it tells them to strike fear into the hearts of the infadels. This being the case they attack those who aren't on their side, those who don't believe as they do. They fight to regain control of Israel and take back what they believe to be their land, and they will continue to squeeze their enemy till they don't have the will to fight just like they did to the Soviets.
